Standards Made Simple ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 Standard Since 1999, the standard has been recog- nized by federal, state and local authorities as well as private industry and provides performance criteria for materials used, specifies minimum areas and recommends placement of the materials. The standard's performance requirements focus on color and brightness of gar- ments relative to the work environment and the combined use of fluorescent and retroreflective materials to make a person conspicuous in all light conditions, day and night. ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 includes criteria for flame resistance (FR) as an optional feature of high-visibility personal protective equip- ment. High-visibility apparel marked as FR must be certified as complying with one of the FR tests cited in the standard. ASTM F1506 and NFPA 70E Standards Garments that meet these standards are ideal for workers exposed to momentary electrical arc and related thermal hazards.
